Co-hosted by the city's Office of Engagement & Opportunity and AARP Arkansas, the session will explain common fraud tactics and how to protect personal data, with simple phone and online registration available once final time and venue details are announced.
   

2. Shooting in downtown Little Rock hurts at least one person (arkansasonline.com) — Police are investigating a Saturday night shooting in downtown Little Rock that left one person injured but initially reported in non-life-threatening condition. Officers blocked part of Scott Street between Second and Markham as multiple law enforcement agencies responded and began piecing together what happened at several locations. Details on suspects or motive have not yet been released.

Little Rock School District presents options that could close three elementary schools (kark.com) — Families in Little Rock should know the school district is weighing two options that could close Western Hills and McDermott Elementary plus either Mabelvale or Watson, as part of its LRSD Forward plan. Arkansas Comic Con draws fans, boosts downtown Little Rock businesses (katv.com) — Arkansas Comic Con is packing the Statehouse Convention Center this weekend, bringing thousands of visitors and a welcome boost to downtown Little Rock hotels, restaurants, and shops. Fans are flocking to cosplay, celebrity guests, and vendor booths, while local businesses along the strip see increased sales from out-of-town attendees spending on food, lodging, and gas.

Austin Peay Volleyball Sweeps Southern Illinois in Governors Classic Finale - Clarksville Online - Clarksville News, Sports, Events and Information (clarksvilleonline.com) — Little Rock volleyball fans will see Austin Peay visit town this Thursday, September 24, when the Governors open conference play here after sweeping Southern Illinois in their home tournament. The team enters the matchup 8-5 with several players posting triple-digit kills, points, and digs, setting up a competitive early-season test for the Little Rock program on its home court.
