Car Careens Into Ravine, Injuring Two People In RivCo: Cal Fire

BANNING, CA — Two people suffered injuries Sunday after their vehicle plunged off the roadway in Banning, landing several hundred feet down a ravine.

Shortly after 2:30 p.m., a vehicle careened from the roadway in the 8500 block of Bluff Street, according to a Cal Fire/ Riverside County Fire Department spokesperson.

Once freed from the vehicle, firefighters used a basket-and-rope rescue system to get the patients back up to the waiting ambulances, fire officials said.

One patient was taken to a hospital by ground ambulance for treatment of minor to moderate injuries, and the second was evaluated by paramedics at the scene and refused further care.
