Construction To Begin On $56.2 Million Traffic Fix For 60 Freeway In Beaumont
The new interchange is anticipated to open to drivers in 2028, according to the Riverside County Transportation Commission.

BEAUMONT, CA — A partial cloverleaf freeway interchange is coming to Beaumont.
This week, construction is set to begin on "Phase II" of the $56.2 million state Route 60/Potrero Boulevard Interchange Project.

In addition to the six-ramp cloverleaf interchange, construction includes realignment of Western Knolls Avenue and widening of Potrero Boulevard to six lanes.

The new interchange is anticipated to open to drivers in 2028, according to the Riverside County Transportation Commission.
The city of Beaumont completed Phase I construction of the six-lane Potrero Boulevard freeway overcrossing in 2019.

Once all the Phase II work is complete, the project is expected to improve regional traffic and access to SR-60, improve air quality through reduced congestion, and support ongoing growth in the San Gorgonio Pass Area.
State and local funds are paying for Phase II of the project, according to RCTC.
