• Banning Sportsman's Club To Continue As Training Ground For County Probation Department (patch.com) — Banning residents may notice continued law enforcement training at the Banning Sportsman's Club after county supervisors quietly extended the probation department's shooting-range license through mid-2029. The $9,600-per-year agreement keeps the Mias Canyon Road facility as a controlled setting for firearms training that county officials say improves officer safety and effectiveness in the field. 
• Inland boys athlete of the week: Jacob Anzaldua, Banning (sanluisobispo.com) — A standout performance by Banning High School quarterback Jacob Anzaldua is putting the local Broncos in the spotlight, after he threw for 523 yards and eight touchdowns in a big win over Fontana. His season totals now rank among the best in Inland history and near the top nationally, giving Banning fans plenty to cheer about this fall.
