Beverly Hills SWAT Helps Bust High-End Vehicle Theft Crew (patch.com) — Beverly Hills residents may notice their local SWAT team played a key role in a sweeping multiagency crackdown on a suspected high-end vehicle theft crew tied to crimes across Los Angeles and Orange counties. Working with several regional departments, Beverly Hills officers helped serve 11 search warrants, leading to six arrests, recovery of nine luxury vehicles, and seizure of more than a dozen firearms.

Beverly Hills lowers speed limits on 19 streets - Beverly Press & Park Labrea News (beverlypress.com) — Speed limits on 19 Beverly Hills streets are dropping starting today, with many busy commercial corridors going from 25 to 20 mph and several major routes reduced from 35 to 30 mph. City leaders say the changes, enabled by California's AB 43, aim to cut crashes and make walking and biking safer, so drivers should watch for new signs in coming weeks.

4. Edgar Allan Poe's Iconic Detective (splashmags.com) — Beverly Hills theatergoers can catch Theatre 40's new production, THE CASEBOOK OF C. AUGUSTE DUPIN, running through October 18 at Beverly Hills High School's Mary Levin Cutler Theatre. The show explores Edgar Allan Poe's pioneering detective stories in a talky but atmospheric staging, with evening and Sunday matinee performances and $35 tickets available by phone or online.
   

5. Beverly Hills public works director to retire - Beverly Press & Park Labrea News (beverlypress.com) — Beverly Hills Public Works Director Shana Epstein will retire Oct. 9 after nearly a decade overseeing the city's infrastructure, utilities and key municipal services. City Manager Ryan Gohlich praised her leadership and said plans to fill the crucial role guiding Beverly Hills' public works operations will be announced in the coming weeks.
