• Gay leather bar Eagle Cathedral City opens soon at old Barracks site (desertsun.com) — Cathedral City is getting a new LGBTQ leather bar as Eagle Cathedral City opens Oct. 30 in the fully renovated former Barracks location, with a grand opening tied to Palm Springs Leather Pride. The multi-million-dollar project, backed by hundreds of community donors, will be one of the largest LGBT bars in the greater Palm Springs area and aims to revive a beloved nightlife tradition.
   

• Storm Rachel cleanup continues across Coachella Valley roads (desertsun.com) — Cathedral City crews have been working overnight to clear standing water, debris, and mud from local streets after Tropical Storm Rachel’s heavy rains, with Tortuga Road and Santoro Drive near the soccer park still affected. While major routes like Dinah Shore Drive, Varner Road, and Vista Chino have reopened, residents are urged to drive cautiously and treat any dark or flashing signals in nearby cities as four‑way stops.
