📰 News we're reading
• Pool supply giant closes 8 stores across the Bay Area (newsbreak.com) — A major national pool supply chain has filed for bankruptcy and is closing its Cerritos store at 11900 South St., along with dozens of other California locations. Cerritos pool owners who rely on Leslie's for supplies or water testing will need to find alternatives as the company restructures and aims to emerge from bankruptcy in 2027 with fewer stores.
• USDA Warns of Illegally Imported Vienna Sausages (ntd.com) — Federal food-safety officials have issued a warning about illegally imported chicken Vienna sausages sold in several southeastern states, and they also recently flagged a recall tied to a Cerritos-based company's Korean chicken stew. While the recalled Sempio products were shipped to East Coast and Southern states, the case highlights how inspections involving Cerritos businesses can have nationwide reach and reinforces the importance of checking recall notices.
