• Ygnacio Valley Library to close for major improvements (contracostaherald.com) — If you rely on nearby libraries, note that Ygnacio Valley Library in Walnut Creek will close September 9 through May 2027 for major HVAC, roofing, and electrical upgrades. During the shutdown, Concord residents can borrow and return materials at the Concord, Walnut Creek, Clayton, or Pleasant Hill branches, with existing holds shifting to Walnut Creek after the closure date.
