Local councilmembers say the move is central to meeting the city's climate goals and will give Coronadans more control over how their power is sourced, while still using SDG&E's existing lines for delivery.

Near drowning of 4-year-old boy ends with 'miracle' recovery (10news.com) — A Coronado-based Navy family is celebrating their 4-year-old son's remarkable recovery after he nearly drowned during a vacation in Mexico and suffered severe complications. Flown back to San Diego for intensive treatment, he eventually woke from a coma, began talking again, and left the hospital without brain deficits, though he lost parts of two fingers. Friends have launched a GoFundMe to help with expenses.
   

5. A change at the top of San Diego Community Power but no reason given for CEO's departure (sandiegouniontribune.com) — San Diego Community Power's CEO has quietly stepped down, but the agency says its renewable energy mission and operations remain stable as it begins searching for new leadership. For Coronado residents, the key takeaway is that Community Power still plans to start serving the city around March 2028, potentially offering cleaner energy options and competitive rates when that launch arrives.
