CoHo South closure, developments at Silo Market among UC Davis food service changes (theaggie.org) — UC Davis students will see big dining changes this fall, including the permanent closure of CoHo South and its conversion into the Aggie Compass Basic Needs Center. New menu options are rolling out at the main CoHo, Silo Market, Spokes, and Latitude Market, with special events and promotions scheduled through early October that Davis students can attend on campus.
   

2. UC Davis police determine cyclist caused April crash on Hutchison Drive (sacbee.com) — UC Davis police have concluded that a student cyclist caused the fatal April crash on Hutchison Drive, but his family and local advocates in Davis say the findings underscore the need for safer bike infrastructure. They're pressing UC Davis, the city of Davis, Yolo County and federal representatives to back a protected "Lincoln Loop" of bike lanes to prevent future deaths.
   

3. UC Davis dean, professor among thousands missing after Nepal-Tibet flood (theaggie.org) — Two longtime UC Davis faculty members, Rao and Vasu Unnava, remain missing after an August 26 flash flood along the Nepal–Tibet border, and the university is coordinating with U.S. and Nepalese authorities in the search. Davis community leaders are highlighting the couple's contributions to the Graduate School of Management while urging students and staff to seek campus counseling support if needed.

Meet The Sacramento Bee Reporter (news-usa.today) — Davis and Yolo County residents now have a dedicated Sacramento Bee accountability reporter, Daniel Lempres, focused on city, county, and UC Davis governance. His beat is designed to track how local decisions on housing, transit, and budgets affect taxpayers, helping fill gaps left as regional newsrooms shrink across Northern California.
   

5. News explainer: What is ASUCD? (theaggie.org) — ASUCD, UC Davis's student government, manages a $22 million budget and runs many services Davis residents see daily, from Unitrans buses to the Coffee House and Picnic Day.
