• Legislature bypasses voters, transfers remaining Palomar Health assets (sandiegouniontribune.com) — Control of Palomar Medical Center Escondido and the rest of Palomar Health's remaining assets is being shifted to a joint authority with UC San Diego Health without a public vote, thanks to a last-minute state trailer bill. District residents will keep paying off hospital bonds through property taxes while officials race to refinance $700 million in debt and hold required public hearings later this year.
