Apostille Pop-Up Shop Returning To Orange County

The Clerk-Recorder partnered with the California Secretary of State to offer in-person apostille services in Santa Ana.

SANTA ANA, CA — Orange County Clerk-Recorder Hugh Nguyen said the office will host a one-day Apostille Pop-Up Shop.

The event will take place from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. on Wednesday, Oct. 21 at County Administration South, 601 N. Ross St. The event, held with the California Secretary of State, brings in-person apostille services back to the county for the second time this year.

“Our Apostille Pop-Up Shops continue to see high demand from residents who appreciate having this important service available closer to home,” Nguyen said. “I’m excited to continue bringing this service directly to our community and helping people save both time and money by avoiding a trip to Los Angeles or having to mail their documents to Sacramento.”

The Secretary of State will also offer in-person domestic partnership registration services. An apostille authenticates the signature of a California public official on a document intended for use outside the U.S. Common documents include birth certificates, marriage certificates, single status certificates, educational records and other official or notarized documents.

Attendees should bring an original document signed by a California public official or an original notarized or certified document. Photocopies are not accepted. A completed Apostille Pop-Up Shop request cover sheet is required and is available at its website.

The Secretary of State fee is $20 per apostille, plus a $6 special handling fee for each public official’s authentication signature.

Payments may be made by Visa, Mastercard, check or money order; no cash is accepted. Notary public services will be available on site from the OC Clerk of the Board for $15 per signature, payable by cash or personal check only, made out to the County of Orange.
