Driver Accused Of Trying To Strike Pedestrians In Fremont Parking Lot

The driver was arrested on suspicion of assault with a deadly weapon and resisting arrest, police said.

FREMONT, CA — A driver was arrested in Fremont last week after trying to run down pedestrians in a parking lot with her car, police said.

Police say the driver drove several times through the parking lot of a business along Albrae Street on Wednesday, Aug. 12, and tried running down multiple people.

It's unclear whether anyone was injured during the incident. Officers responded to the scene, but the driver refused to cooperate and tried to leave, according to the Fremont Police Department.

But officers blocked the vehicle and pulled the driver, who police say was resisting arrest, out of the car, according to authorities.

Police only identified the woman as a female driver. She was arrested on suspicion of assault with a deadly weapon and resisting arrest, police said.
