• Developer closes on affordable housing at 39340 Fremont Blvd. (urbanize.city) — A major new affordable housing complex called Canvas is moving forward at 39340 Fremont Boulevard, across from the Fremont Hub Shopping Center, with completion expected in spring 2028. The five-story project will offer a mix of apartments, including units reserved for people with disabilities and renters earning 30–70% of area median income, backed by funding from the City of Fremont and private partners.
   

• 3 Bay Area high schools make California's top 10 in U.S. News rankings (mercurynews.com) — Mission San Jose High School in Fremont has been ranked 10th in California and 98th nationwide by U.S. News & World Report, highlighting strong college readiness and test scores. Two other Bay Area schools also made the state's top 10, underscoring the region's academic strength and especially strong Advanced Placement participation at Mission San Jose.
   

• Tesla delays Optimus Prime electric car, but robot mass production is delayed until the end of 2027 (aroged.com) — Tesla's longtime Fremont factory is shifting focus from Model S and X production toward organizing around its Optimus humanoid robots, with mass production now delayed until late 2027. Analysts say Fremont could eventually assemble up to a million robots annually, while Tesla also advances its self-driving software and robotaxi plans centered in Texas, potentially influencing long-term operations and jobs tied to the Fremont plant.
