Police Arrest Suspect In Fremont Dog Stabbing

FREMONT, CA — A suspect was arrested earlier this month after stabbing a barking dog at a motel in Fremont, police said.

Police say the suspect was in a car with another person and the dogs at a motel along Fremont Boulevard on Tuesday, Oct.6, when one of the dogs started barking.

That's when the suspect repeatedly stabbed the dog, leaving it with significant injuries, according to the Fremont Police Department.

Officers responded to the scene and arrested the suspect on suspicion of animal cruelty, police said. The suspect's identity was not released.

Authorities took the canine to receive medical care, police said, although it's unclear whether it survived its injuries.
