'I didn't believe it': Woman killed by partner after walking away from argument in Fresno (yourcentralvalley.com) — A woman was fatally shot late Wednesday in central Fresno after walking away from an argument in a parking lot near Palm and Shields, and her partner is now jailed on a murder charge. Fresno Police are asking anyone with information or surveillance video from the area to come forward as the victim's family and nearby workers grapple with the violence.
   

5. Rising gas prices strain Fresno drivers, local nonprofits (abc30.com) — Rising gas prices are squeezing Fresno drivers, forcing some to limit trips to essentials like school pickups and grocery runs. Local nonprofits such as the Central California Food Bank and the Rescue Mission of Fresno say fuel and food cost spikes are driving up operating expenses and demand for help across the Valley.
