Roosters Seized From Suspected Cockfighting Camp: Watch
Deputies arrested a man suspected of animal cruelty and bird fighting, according to the Sonoma County Sheriff.

SONOMA COUNTY, CA — Investigators uncovered a suspected cockfighting operation after discovering more than 800 roosters and equipment commonly associated with organized bird fighting, according to the Sonoma County Sheriff's Office.
Deputies investigating allegations of animal abuse found 833 roosters in the 3000 block of Stony Point Road. They also found items consistent with a large-scale cockfighting setup, including slashers, timers, veterinary medications, and conditioning supplements, identification bands, betting slips, and small-denomination currency, according to the Sonoma County Sheriff Office.
The discovery left unanswered questions about how long the operation had been active and whether additional participants were involved.
