With live entertainment, kids' activities, food vendors, and merchant specials, organizers urge visitors to confirm schedules and potential weather or safety postponements before heading out.
   

2. First Ever Recorded Sea Turtle Nests on America's West Coast (goodnewsnetwork.org) — Huntington Beach just became part of history as one of two Orange County beaches where olive ridley sea turtles laid the first recorded nests on the U.S. West Coast. After storms threatened the fragile eggs, local marine safety crews and federal wildlife officials moved 204 of them to incubators in Long Beach, hoping hatchlings will soon return to our waters.

Westwood Financial Acquires Grocery-Anchored Huntington Beach Center (connectcre.com) — A major Huntington Beach shopping hub, Peninsula Marketplace, has been purchased by Westwood Financial, which says the Ralphs-anchored center is 99% leased and deeply tied to the community. The new owner cites a strengthening Orange County retail market and plans to build on the center's long-standing role in local daily life and shopping convenience.

California Wine Festival prepares to uncork California wines and coastal views in Huntington Beach (latimes.com subscription) — Wine lovers in Huntington Beach can look forward to the California Wine Festival at Paséa Hotel & Spa on October 16–17, featuring rare tastings, hundreds of California wines, and local food vendors. The waterfront weekend includes VIP options, live music, and supports charities like Sandy Feet Initiative, blending coastal views with a cause-driven celebration of state wine culture.
   

5. Corona del Mar boys water polo holds off Huntington Beach (ocregister.com) — Huntington Beach water polo fans saw a tight Sunset League showdown as Corona del Mar edged the Oilers 11-8 behind a standout performance from senior William Weir. The match at Huntington Beach highlighted rising local talents on both sides and set the tone for league play, with coaches praising rapid improvement and strong defensive efforts.
