• Chula Vista hires federal lobbyist, dropping Imperial Beach sewage crisis partnership for now (sandiegouniontribune.com) — Imperial Beach's push for a joint federal lobbying effort on the Tijuana River sewage crisis hit a snag when Chula Vista's council delayed the partnership, approving lobbying only for its own city. Imperial Beach had already signed off on sharing costs, and its mayor personally urged collaboration, but Chula Vista leaders now want to first coordinate a broader South Bay strategy before reconsidering the deal.
