• Dana Point Prepares For Kelvin Wave Expected To Raise Sea Levels Along SoCal Coast (patch.com) — Coastal residents in and around Laguna Niguel are being warned that a Kelvin wave moving up the Pacific could raise Southern California sea levels by 6 to 12 inches in early October, compounding recent hurricane-driven erosion. Dana Point, Laguna Beach and other nearby beaches have already seen homes red-tagged and sand stripped away, leaving local shorelines more vulnerable to flooding, infrastructure damage and prolonged higher tides into winter.
