21-Year-Old RivCo Man Killed In Dirt Bike Crash, Alcohol Possibly Involved: CHP

MOUNTAIN CENTER, CA — A 21-year-old Hemet man riding a dirt bike was fatally injured Friday morning after losing control and crashing near Mountain Center, authorities said.

Just before 6:30 a.m., CHP officers responded to a solo-vehicle crash on McCall Park Road, north of Vista Way. Authorities said a preliminary investigation indicates the man was riding a Honda CRF450R on McCall Park Road "approaching a curvature in the roadway" when he lost control and went off the roadway, according to the California Highway Patrol.

The dirt bike overturned and the rider was ejected, authorities said.

CHP said the rider was not wearing a helmet at the time of the crash and was pronounced dead at the scene.

Authorities said alcohol is believed to be a factor in this crash.

The crash is still under investigation.
