Retired Lake Elsinore Couple Traveling The Country In Their RV Suffer Tragedy In Kansas

Michael David Shreiber was killed and their motorhome destroyed. His wife, Colleen, is facing the heartbreaking reality of starting over.

Shreiber's 70-year-old wife, Colleen, who was wearing a safety belt at the time of the collision, was uninjured, the KHP reported.

Neither the Mack truck driver nor his 18-year-old passenger was hurt, according to the KHP.

No arrests were announced.

According to a GoFundMe campaign established for Colleen, the Shreibers had spent the past five years traveling across the country in their motorhome.

"They spent summers in Crivitz, Wisconsin, near family and friends, and wintered in California to be close to Michael’s daughters, grandchildren, family, and friends," the campaign description reads. "The crash not only took Michael’s life, but also destroyed the motorhome and left Colleen facing the heartbreaking reality of starting over with very little.

"Support will help her relocate back to Green Bay, Wisconsin, to be near family and friends, find safe and stable housing with her two dogs, purchase a reliable vehicle, replace essential personal belongings and furniture lost in the accident, cover immediate living expenses, and help with funeral and cremation expenses," the post continued.

As of late Tuesday morning, the fundraiser had raised nearly $6,500.
