Vehicle Crashes Into Lake Elsinore Planet Fitness

LAKE ELSINORE, CA — A car plowed into the front entrance of a Lake Elsinore gym Monday, breaking glass but not injuring anyone.

The crash was reported at 12:18 p.m. at the Planet Fitness in the 32200 block of Mission Trail, near Malaga Road, according to Cal Fire/Riverside County Fire Department.

The agency said several engine crews were sent to the location and found the vehicle on the sidewalk, with the driver still behind the wheel.

There were initial reports that someone had been struck in front of the structure, but that wasn't the case.

The motorist, whose name was not released, suffered from an undisclosed medical emergency and apparently lost control of the vehicle, allowing it to jump the curb and hit the building, according to reports from the scene.

No one inside was hurt. Damage was confined to the glass doors, officials said.

The driver was taken in stable condition to Inland Valley Medical Center in Wildomar for treatment.
