Police Seek Semi Driver In Fatal Long Beach Bicycle Hit-And-Run (patch.com) — Long Beach police are searching for the driver of a semi-truck involved in a deadly hit-and-run that killed a 68-year-old local bicyclist near West Pacific Coast Highway and Canal Avenue. Detectives are still working to identify the driver and are examining speed as a possible factor, while urging anyone with information to contact LBPD or LA Crime Stoppers.

The capsule, funded through the city's Special Events budget, will be sealed in early 2027 and displayed in the Long Beach Civic Center lobby, preserving what locals value in 2026 for the next 50 years.
   

4. Long Beach to rename street near LBCC to honor former mayor Beverly O'Neill (presstelegram.com) — Long Beach leaders have voted to rename E. Lew Davis Street near Long Beach City College's Liberal Arts Campus to "Beverly O'Neill Way," honoring the former mayor's decades of service in education and civic life. The change, backed by the City Council and LBCC trustees, will cost about $3,000 for new signage and will highlight O'Neill's legacy for students and visitors.
   

5. Hotel Datafornia: Southern California Data and AI Leaders Check In for CDO Magazine Executive Boardroom Dinner (cdomagazine.tech) — Data and AI leaders from across Southern California recently gathered at Boathouse on the Bay in Long Beach for an intimate CDO Magazine executive boardroom dinner focused on the foundations behind AI.
