Pharmacy, Jack In The Box Burglarized During Back-To-Back Street Takeovers
About 100 people were gathered for a street takeover Sunday night before the burglaries, police said.
LOS ANGELES, CA — Authorities are investigating two burglaries that occurred during separate street takeovers less than 2 miles apart on the Eastside Sunday night.
The first street takeover was reported at 10:57 p.m. near Lorena Street and Whittier Boulevard in Boyle Heights, according to the Los Angeles Police Department.
During the takeover, suspects broke into Lorena Pharmacy in the 3400 block of Whittier Boulevard, police said.

About 100 people had gathered in the area, and as many as 10 people eventually entered the pharmacy, KTLA reported.
Video aired by the station showed two people using a saw to get inside before suspects left carrying baskets of merchandise.

About 15 minutes later, three suspects broke into a Jack in the Box during another street takeover near South Downey Road and East Olympic Boulevard in East Los Angeles, according to KTLA.
Two masked suspects stole two cash registers, the station reported, citing police.
The break-ins follow a series of burglaries at AutoZone stores during street takeovers in the area earlier this month, the station reported.
