Serial Peeper Charged After Looking In Woman's Window: Police

The victim had been trying on a Halloween costume when a floodlight came on outside, she told KTLA.

LOS ANGELES — A serial peeper was arrested over the weekend after looking in a young woman’s window, according to police.

Mario Arenas, 59, of Santa Fe Springs, was arrested late Saturday and booked early Sunday on a misdemeanor warrant for a peeping Tom charge, authorities said.

The arrest came after police issued an alert last week about a man who had around 8:30 p.m. Oct. 9 entered a backyard in the Westchester neighborhood and peeked in a window at a 21-year-old woman, according to police.

The victim, Talia Behrens, told KTLA that she had been trying on a Halloween costume when a floodlight came on outside and she got a text from her neighbor telling her that a man had been staring in her window for several minutes.

“I’ve never felt that violated,” she told the outlet.

Arenas had previously been arrested in connection with another peeping in Westchester in the past, police said in the alert.

Councilwoman Traci Park of the 11th District in a social media post thanked local police for finding Arenas.

“The creep suspected of peeping into young women’s bedrooms in Westchester is in custody,” she wrote.
