Crews are racing to stabilize the cliffside near Nicolas Cage's beachfront house, repair utilities, and rebuild access after erosion from Hurricane Marie's surf undermined the area.
   

• 'A doozy': Record-breaking El Niño bearing down on California (agri-pulse.com) — Scientists warn that erosion already seen in Malibu could be a preview of a very wet, flood-prone El Niño winter across California. Expect higher sea levels, stronger storms, and potential coastal flooding, while communities statewide rush to clear drains, prepare shelters, and help farmers adapt to unusually wet conditions.
