Parkline masterplan development project on Menlo Park City Council agenda September 22 (inmenlo.com) — Menlo Park residents can weigh in Tuesday, Sept. 22, as the City Council reviews major revisions to the Parkline masterplan, including boosting housing from 800 to 1,082 units and adding a new retail village. The 6 p.m. study session will cover building heights, office space reductions, below-market-rate housing changes, and site layout, with staff and applicant taking community comments.
   

2. SALA Festival returns to Menlo College (indicanews.com) — South Asian Literature and Art Festival returns to nearby Menlo College in Atherton on Sept. 26–27, giving Menlo Park residents easy access to two days of panels, music, and a concert by Anirudh Verma. Organizers promise wide-ranging discussions on identity, diaspora history, health, and disruptive ideas, plus a pop-up bookstore and a showcase of emerging writers.
   

3. Sponge Share New Single and Announce Final Studio Album (ghostcultmag.com) — Sponge is releasing what they say will be their final studio album on October 2 and are touring with Candlebox, including a Menlo Park stop at The Guild Theatre on September 29. Menlo Park rock fans can catch the band's new single live as part of a tour that favors raw, unpolished performances over studio perfection.
   

4. Kepler's Literary Foundation launches Leadership Circle Campaign (inmenlo.com) — Menlo Park's beloved Kepler's is strengthening its future through a new Leadership Circle Campaign, already pledging about $350,000 toward a $550,000 goal. The three-year effort will support author events, sustain living wages for staff in the costly Peninsula market, and keep high-quality literary programming thriving for local readers and families.
   

5. Oakland road-rage incident ends in Peninsula man's arrest (mercurynews.com) — A 59-year-old Menlo Park man was arrested in American Canyon after allegedly pointing a gun multiple times at another driver during a road-rage incident in Oakland, police said. Officers later found a handgun and ammunition in his SUV, and he now faces several firearm-related charges as a prohibited person, with more details expected as the investigation continues.
