All-Women Team Makes Dipsea History, Earns Mill Valley Honors (patch.com) — Mill Valley residents can celebrate a historic Dipsea milestone as the all-women Swoop Sirens team became the first female squad to win the race's team competition. Honored by the Mill Valley City Council, the runners shared how years of effort led to multiple top finishes and hope their success inspires more local women and girls to join the trail-running community.

Years Of Wildfire Prevention Put To The Test In Mill Valley (patch.com) — Mill Valley fire officials say years of fuel‑reduction work, including the Mill Valley fuel break, helped contain the recent Hillside Fire but warn that a "normal" 2026 season still poses serious neighborhood risks. They're urging residents to clear vegetation, maintain Zone 0 around homes, prepare go‑bags, and sign up for Alert Marin so quick 911 calls and defensible space can keep future fires in check.
   

3. Marin explores easement for Mill Valley wetlands, path projects (marinij.com) — Marin County is moving ahead with a possible easement to shift the Mill Valley-Sausalito Multiuse Path out of flood‑prone Bothin Marsh in Mill Valley, aiming to protect wetlands and keep this heavily used route passable. The preferred realignment would relocate part of the trail onto already disturbed land near Shoreline Highway businesses, improving habitat, easing sea‑level‑rise impacts, and potentially adding safer access for people walking and biking.
   

4. Just 45 minutes from San Francisco, this fine art festival brings 135 artists and live music to an old-growth redwood canopy this September (secretsanfrancisco.com) — Mill Valley residents can look forward to the Fall Arts Festival returning to Old Mill Park on September 19–20, 2026, with 135 juried artists under the redwoods. Expect live music, food and drinks from local restaurants, and optional wine tasting, all just a short walk from downtown. Tickets start around $23, with a wine add-on available.
   

5. Once home to Tupac Shakur, historic Bay Area property undergoing major revamp (ktvu.com) — A major renovation is underway at Golden Gate Village in nearby Marin City, the public housing complex where Tupac Shakur once lived while attending Tamalpais High School in Mill Valley. Backed by new municipal bond financing, Phase 1 will upgrade 88 units, modernize safety systems, and improve outdoor areas while preserving long‑term affordability. Work is expected to finish in two phases by 2030.
