The 13th annual Excellence Through Education Conference takes place this month.

RIVERSIDE, CA — The 13th annual Excellence Through Education Conference will be held this month in Riverside, officials announced Tuesday.

The conference is scheduled for Sept. 16-17 at the Riverside Convention Center at 3637 Fifth St. It will feature the theme, "Creating Possibilities: Imagining More. Designing Better. Measuring What Matters," the Riverside County Office of Education announced.

"Our theme is a call to action for the education community: to create unlimited possibilities for our students, we must imagine new ways to serve, design better systems, and ensure that student success is what matters most," County Superintendent of Schools Edwin Gomez said.

The conference will consist of keynote speakers such as consultant and award-winning author Tommie Mabry, former superintendent and university professor Candy Singh, founder of CoolSpeak, a youth engagement company that provides motivational speakers for students, parental engagement expert Ernesto Mejia, and Tony Plana, an award-winning actor, producer, director and arts advocate.

The conference will also include student performances, wellness activities and networking activities.
