Teens Took Off GPS Ankle Tracker Arrested In High-Speed Police Chase

NAPA VALLEY, CA — Napa police arrested three teens driving a Chrysler 300 that topped 100 mph, passed cars on the right shoulder, spun out, and damaged a front tire during a pursuit from Napa County into Sonoma County.

Detectives with the Napa Police Department’s Special Enforcement Unit attempted to stop the Chrysler for vehicle code violations.

When the driver did not stop, detectives pursued the car south on Highway 29 and west on Highway 12 toward Sonoma.

The Chrysler eventually failed to make a right turn at high speed, spun out of control, and damaged a front tire. The vehicle stopped on Napa Road, just north of Highway 12, in Sonoma County.

Police arrested the 17-year-old male driver, an 18-year-old male rear passenger, and a 19-year-old male front passenger.

The 17-year-old and 18-year-old had active arrest warrants after recently cutting off their probation GPS monitors while on release from Juvenile Hall.
