Child Molestation Suspect Arrested In OC 18 Years After Warrant Issued
The suspect was on the run for nearly two decades, police said.
SANTA ANA, CA — A 73-year-old man accused of molesting an 8-year-old relative 18 years ago was behind bars Friday.
Andres Reyes was arrested by Santa Ana police Thursday on a warrant issued in 2008 when he allegedly fled the country, police said.
Police were investigating the alleged sexual assault of the girl in 2008 after the victim's mother interrupted it and called officers, police said. Before Reyes could be taken into custody, he allegedly fled and a $1 million warrant was issued for his arrest.

Investigators received a tip that Reyes returned to the same home where he was accused of attacking the girl and, police arrested the suspect near McFadden Avenue and Baker Street.
