E-Scooter Crash Seriously Injures OC College Student, Campus Police Say

FULLERTON, CA — A Cal State Fullerton student walking a pedestrian-heavy walkway was struck by another student riding an electric scooter Thursday, officials say.

The incident occurred in a zone strictly for pedestrians, according to the CSUF police in an online safety message.

Riding a scooter in that area is risky, "especially for those who are using micromobility devices to travel through," said Sgt. Chris Brown.

"The student was taken by ambulance to a local hospital with serious injuries," they said.

Campus directives prohibit the use of mobility devices on those walkways.

"Make sure we are being safe for one another and looking out for our fellow Titans," Brown said.
