Man Dies When Crash Throws Him From Motorcycle In OC

The 43-year-old motorcyclist was identified as Costa Mesa resident by police.

SANTA ANA, CA — A 43-year-old man died Tuesday when his motorcycle was involved in a crash that ejected him from his bike in Santa Ana Tuesday.

The crash happened Tuesday, July 14 at around 7:02 a.m., when Santa Ana Police were called to the scene at the intersection of First Street and Center Street, police said.

Upon arrival, police found 43-year-old Calvin Williams, of Costa Mesa, lying on the roadway with "significant upper-body trauma," the Santa Ana Police Department said in a statement.

Despite lifesaving efforts, Williams was pronounced dead at the scene, police said.

According to investigators, Williams was riding his motorcycle eastbound on First Street when a vehicle traveling in the adjacent lane changed lanes, causing the two vehicles to strike.
