Palm Desert Man Found Dead On Pines To Palms Highway

PALM DESERT, CA — A man found dead over the weekend in the roadway of the Pines to Palms Highway (state Route 74), was identified Monday as a local resident.

According to the Riverside County Sheriff-Coroner's Bureau, Luis Guerrero, 57, of Palm Desert was discovered at approximately 8:10 a.m. Saturday. He was pronounced dead at the scene of the twisty, switchback-heavy section of the highway that drops into Palm Desert.

Guerrero's time of injury remains unknown, according to the coroner. It's unclear whether he was involved in a crash.
