Woman Killed In Rancho Mirage Hit-And-Run; Suspect Arrested

RANCHO MIRAGE, CA — A 57-year-old woman was killed in a Rancho Mirage hit-and-run crash and the motorist who allegedly ran away was later arrested, authorities said Sunday.

The crash occurred about 8:10 a.m. Saturday at Dinah Shore Drive and George Montgomery Way, according to Riverside County Sheriff's Office Sgt. Robert Wiggs.

The driver of one of the vehicles was pronounced dead at the scene, Wiggs said. She was identified as Teresa Bowlin of Cathedral City.

The other driver reportedly ran from the scene after the crash, he said.

"Deputies searched the area and located the suspect, identified as Tyler Conant, a 23-year-old resident of Long Beach, in Los Angeles County, who was taken into custody without incident," Wiggs said.

Investigators determined that Conant was under the influence of alcohol, Wiggs said. He was booked into the John Benoit Detention Center in Indio for suspicion of murder and felony hit-and-run.
