City board debates how far a 1930s Palm Springs home can change for modern family ⋆ The Palm Springs Post (thepalmspringspost.com) — Palm Springs' Historic Site Preservation Board has unanimously approved major additions to the 1930s Casa Wobada home on South Indian Trail, with conditions to protect its historic character. The decision follows months of review, a new Class 1 historic designation, and debate over how much a landmark home can change to fit a modern family's needs.

DAP Health expanding Palm Springs campus to increase access to care (kesq.com) — DAP Health is significantly expanding its Sunrise Campus in Palm Springs, adding a new entrance, larger lab, women's health clinic and drive-through pharmacy to better serve local patients. Palm Springs Fire Station Displaces Food Bank Serving 250 Families (nbcpalmsprings.com) — A new Palm Springs fire station project has forced local nonprofit Well in the Desert to leave its longtime site, halting food distribution to about 250 families each week. Commentators are questioning whether the city should have done more to secure a new location so public safety improvements don't come at the expense of a vital community food resource.
   

4. Palm Springs Says Farewell to Chief Andy Mills: Five Decades of Service, Leadership and a Legacy of Community (hollywoodtimes.net) — Palm Springs is saying goodbye to Police Chief Andy Mills after five years leading PSPD and nearly five decades in law enforcement, with an emotional community sendoff for him and his wife Cathy. Deputy Chief Kyle Stjerne will become the new chief on September 6, pledging to continue the community-focused policing and strong neighborhood relationships that many residents have come to value.
