(heysocal.com subscription) — Pasadena's Department of Water and Power has fully restored Altadena's Allen Reservoir and completed several major water main upgrades on key Pasadena streets, improving reliability for local customers. Recent and ongoing work spans Fair Oaks, Oak Knoll, Holly, Villa, Colorado, Grand and other corridors, with new ductile iron pipes, resurfaced pavement, and accessibility improvements designed to protect long-term water service.
   

• Pasadena homeowner foils break-in attempt after would-be burglars ignore security warnings (pasadenastarnews.com) — A Pasadena homeowner in Upper Hastings Ranch scared off a group of masked intruders late Friday night after their security system warnings were ignored, prompting a rapid police and helicopter response. Officers are reviewing neighborhood video and maintaining increased patrols, especially since some nearby homes remain empty after the Eaton fire, though police have not confirmed links to other break-ins.
   

• Altadena Sheriff's Station Urges Residents to Prepare for the Next Earthquake (pasadenanow.com) — Residents in northeast Pasadena and Altadena are being urged by the Altadena Sheriff's Station to create an earthquake plan now, including emergency kits, securing heavy items, and signing up for alerts. The station, which serves parts of Pasadena, also points locals to LA County's detailed readiness resources and invites them to join the statewide Great California ShakeOut drill on October 15, 2026.
