Residents will also weigh in on Petaluma-focused tax and bond measures for parks and schools, while helping choose new state leaders, congressional representatives, and the fate of high-profile statewide propositions including a billionaire tax and major housing and tax reforms.

More Details In Fiery Plane Crash That Killed 2 (patch.com) — A small two-seat plane crashed and erupted in flames near Rooster Run Golf Club shortly after taking off from Petaluma Municipal Airport, killing both people on board but injuring no one on the ground. Federal investigators from the FAA and NTSB have taken over the case and are working to determine why the Van's RV-7A went down as Petaluma police keep key streets reopened after earlier closures.

Two hospitalized after fiery crash sparks brush fire near Sonoma (sonomanews.com) — Petaluma-area readers should know that a fiery two-vehicle crash near Stage Gulch and Watmaugh roads south of Sonoma sent two people to local hospitals and briefly closed Stage Gulch Road. Firefighters, including crews from Petaluma and several nearby agencies, quickly contained a 1.25-acre brush fire sparked by the burning vehicle while bystanders helped move an occupant away from advancing flames.
   

4. CHP: Santa Rosa man arrested in fatal hit-and-run involving cyclist near Graton (pressdemocrat.com) — A 43-year-old Petaluma woman was killed in a late-September hit-and-run along Guerneville Road near Graton, and CHP has now arrested a 29-year-old Santa Rosa man on suspicion of DUI and hit-and-run causing death. Investigators tracked a damaged white Ford Ranger after a tip from a Santa Rosa resident, and the suspect is being held on $500,000 bail pending formal charges.
   

5. Game of the Week: Ukiah, Rancho Cotate set for potential league-deciding clash (pressdemocrat.com) — Petaluma football fans will see familiar rivals mentioned as Ukiah's unbeaten Wildcats face Rancho Cotate in a key Redwood Empire Conference matchup that could shape the league race. Ukiah recently outlasted both Casa Grande and Petaluma High but has struggled to hold second-half leads, while Rancho Cotate has surged late in games and rides a long winning streak in this series.
