Wanted Petaluma Man Punches Officer During Arrest (patch.com) — Petaluma police say a local man with an outstanding felony warrant shoved one officer, fled into a nearby business, and punched another officer in the face before being subdued with a Taser. The Sunday morning arrest on Petaluma Boulevard North ended with no serious injuries, and the suspect was evaluated by Petaluma Fire personnel before being booked into Sonoma County Jail on multiple charges.
   

2. Watch: Parolee Leads Police On 100-MPH Highway Pursuit Across North Bay (patch.com) — A high-speed pursuit that began when Petaluma police spotted a parole violator turned into a dangerous, 100-mph dash across multiple North Bay highways. With help from Sonoma County's Henry One helicopter, CHP, and Vallejo police, officers ultimately arrested the driver on Interstate 80 after he repeatedly used shoulders and the median to dodge traffic.
   

3. 3-Hour Standoff Ends In Tear Gas And Penngrove Man's Arrest (patch.com) — Petaluma police linked a July stabbing on Eastside Circle to a Penngrove resident, leading to coordinated searches in Petaluma and a three-hour SWAT standoff. Officers used tear gas before the suspect surrendered, and investigators seized weapons and evidence as they continue seeking tips from anyone with direct knowledge of the Petaluma assault.
   

4. Paws, Police, and Polo: Petaluma Officers Apprehend Evasive 'Very Good Boy' (ksro.com) — Petaluma traffic officers safely corralled a runaway puppy dashing through traffic on Petaluma Boulevard North, then used social media to quickly reunite him with his family. Along with the feel-good rescue, police reminded residents that Sonoma County Animal Services is now handling local animal control, an important change for Petaluma pet owners.
