📰 News we're reading

• Piedmont Fire seeks community input on disaster preparedness (piedmontexedra.com) — Piedmont residents are being asked by the Fire Department to complete a short disaster-preparedness survey by October 30 to shape future earthquake and wildfire readiness efforts. Your responses will help the city understand current household preparedness, identify gaps, and decide what trainings, communications, and resources to prioritize for local neighborhoods.

• Piedmont falls at Acalanes (piedmontexedra.com) — Piedmont High's boys water polo team dropped a 17-10 road match to Acalanes on October 1 but remains busy with league play, now 6-8 overall and 1-2 in conference. Local fans can look ahead to the Highlanders' next home game against Castro Valley on October 6, following several recent tournament battles and a strong win over Encinal.

• Piedmont: Best deals on residential properties in the week of Aug. 31 (mercurynews.com) — Homebuyers in and around Piedmont saw eight residential sales recently, with an average price of about $1.1 million and typical homes offering three bedrooms and one bath. The week's standout deal was a $675,000 Oakland condo, illustrating how nearby neighborhoods compare to Piedmont's generally higher price-per-square-foot market.
