Located at 2607 Myrtle Street in Oakland, the $92.75 million project will include essential upgrades to building systems such as plumbing replacement with lead abatement, seismic improvements, and the modernization of heating, electrical, ventilation and air conditioning systems.
Indoor spaces will be updated with new flooring, wall treatments and upgrades to classrooms, laboratories and sports locker rooms. The cafeteria will also be reconfigured, and outdoor areas will include the construction of a new grandstand, track and field upgrades, code-compliant accessible field bathrooms and concessions, updates to the plaza, garden and outdoor gathering areas. 
Additional enhancements will include ADA-compliant ramps at the building entrance and upgrades to the wood shop and after-school program facilities.
Along with the school district on Friday, June 12, McClymonds held a groundbreaking ceremony to celebrate the milestone, as well as the planning, partnership, and progress that made this Measure Y Bond modernization project possible.
Construction activities on the project are expected to start this month, with a slated completion date of February 2029.

Free Pet Vaccine and Microchip Clinic

The clinic starts at 8 AM. 
Our free vaccination and microchip clinics are offered on a first-come, first-served basis. Due to high community demand, we encourage participants to arrive early, as registration and check-in may take a couple hours. While we strive to serve as many pets and families as possible, demand often exceeds our available capacity, and we cannot guarantee that all attendees will receive services. We appreciate your patience and understanding as we work to support our community.
Services Offered:
•Dogs:Rabies + DAPP vaccines 
•Cats:Rabies + FVRCP vaccines 
•Microchips:Available for both dogs and cats 
•Pet food:Available while supplies last (Please bring a bag or tote to carry your pet food.) 
•Please note:Canine Influenza, Leptospirosis, or Bordetella are not offered at this event. 
Important Details:
•Pet guardians must beContra Costa Countyresidents (proofrequired) and18+ years of age. 
•Services are provided on a first-come, first-served basis. 
•All pets must be at least6 weeksold. 
•Dogs must be leashed, and cats must be secure in carriers.
•Please bring prior vaccine records if available. 
•If your pet exhibits any of the following symptoms: coughing, sneezing, runnyeyes, diarrhea, or vomiting, please keep them at home. 
•Pets will receive a brief health check to ensure they are well enough for vaccination.This is not a full wellness or diagnostic exam. 
•Feral cats or community cats will not be served. 
•Joybound People &amp; Pets reserves the right to refuse service.
Behavior &amp; Training Support: A Behavior team member will be available to answer your training questions as well as go over a variety of related services offered at Joybound.
