14-Year-Old E-Bike Rider Killed In Crash With Tesla In San Diego

The boy was taken to a hospital, where he was pronounced dead, police said.

SAN DIEGO, CA — A 14-year-old boy riding an e-bike was killed Saturday night in a collision with a Tesla in Pacific Beach, authorities said.

The crash happened at about 9:20 p.m. at Balboa Avenue and Olney Street, according to the San Diego Police Department.

Police said the teen was riding a Zooz e-bike north on Olney Street when he entered the intersection against a red light. A 38-year-old man driving a 2023 Tesla Model 3 west on Balboa Avenue struck the teen in the intersection.
