Chula Vista Lemon Festival To Return For 29th Annual Celebration

CHULA VISTA, CA — The Lemon Festival will take over Downtown Chula Vista on Aug. 15, celebrating the city's lemon-growing history with food, music and family activities.

The 29th annual festival will feature lemon-inspired treats and drinks, arts and crafts vendors, two stages of live music and photo opportunities with Tarty the Lemon. A children's area called Little Lemons will offer games, crafts and activities at Memorial Park.

"There's nothing like seeing the community come together for the Lemon Festival," said Dominic Li Mandri, district manager of the Downtown Chula Vista Association. "Each year, this event brings neighbors and visitors to celebrate the community's history and enjoy themed fun."

The event honors Chula Vista's history as a major lemon-growing region in the early 1900s. The city was once known as the "Lemon Capital of the World" for its expansive lemon groves.

Organizers said the festival continues to celebrate that legacy while bringing residents, visitors and local businesses together.

The festival will take place from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. Aug. 15 along Third Avenue in Downtown Chula Vista.
