Nonprofit To Throw Two-Day Pool Party In SF With Hopes Of Getting Over 60 Dogs Adopted

SAN FRANCISCO, CA — Make a splash at the Muttville pool party this weekend alongside more than 60 adoptable dogs in San Francisco.

Muttville Senior Dog Rescue, a cage-free nonprofit shelter that takes in dogs seven years and older, is hosting a two-day "pool party" in San Francisco on Saturday and Sunday in hopes of finding dozens of furry friends a new forever home.

The event takes place at the nonprofit's Mission District headquarters at 750 Florida St. Adoption fees will be waived as part of "Clear the Shelters," an NBC campaign held in August to shine a light on animal shelters and find homes for thousands of animals.

"Watch dogs splash, lounge, and play in kiddie pools while rocking bikinis and Hawaiian shirts," Muttville officials said. "Plus, visitors will enjoy treats and refreshments, chances to win prizes, and lots more summertime fun! The event is free and open to the community, whether you’re just stopping in to cuddle the pups or to adopt your new best friend."

Doggy Paddle, who came from Merced County Animal Services, High Dive, a terrier from Kensington, and Snorkel, a 10-year-old chihuahua that came from Antioch Animal Services, are among the dogs available for adoption.

"Take a seat and see who jumps in your lap," Muttville CEO Laurie Routhier said on Monday. "Dogs like Flips Flops, Snorkel, Water Slide, Belly Flop, Hot Tub, Doggy Paddle, and, of course, Pool Party can't wait to meet potential new adopters!"
