SF Fire Crews Rescue Person Trapped Inside Garbage Truck Hopper (patch.com) — Early Wednesday morning, San Francisco firefighters rescued a person found trapped inside the hopper of a Recology garbage truck on Mason Street after someone heard yelling and flagged down the driver. Crews removed trash from the truck to reach the individual, who was then carried to a gurney and taken to a hospital, though officials have not released the person's identity or condition.

3. SF Man Dies In Fatal DUI Crash, Driver Arrested: Police (patch.com) — A 22-year-old San Francisco man died after the car he was riding in crashed into a light pole near El Camino Real and the I-380 off-ramp in San Bruno early Sunday. Police say the 29-year-old driver, who also suffered serious injuries, was arrested on suspicion of DUI, gross vehicular manslaughter, and drug possession as the investigation continues.

Beach hazards statement in place for Bay Area Shorelines from Friday to Monday (sacbee.com) — If you're heading to any San Francisco or nearby Bay Area beaches, expect dangerous surf from Friday morning through Monday night, with sneaker waves, strong rip currents, and breakers around 10 feet. The National Weather Service urges people to stay off jetties and rocks, avoid entering the water, and never turn their back on the ocean while this beach hazards statement is in effect.
