Woman Seriously Injured In Dog Attack In SF: Report

SAN FRANCISCO, CA — A woman was seriously injured Tuesday morning after being attacked by a large dog in San Francisco’s Tenderloin, according to a report by KRON4.

The San Francisco Fire Department received a call around 9:20 a.m. reporting a traumatic attack on the 500 block of Larkin Street. An adult woman suffered serious injuries, according to fire officials.

KRON4 reported that videos posted to the Citizen app showed animal control officers responding to the scene and attempting to restrain a large pit bull-type dog. The victim could be seen receiving treatment in the street, KRON4 reported.

San Francisco Animal Care and Control officials told KRON4 they were in possession of the dog’s remains and described it as a large pit bull mix.

It was not immediately clear whether the dog was killed by police following the attack.

The circumstances surrounding the attack remain under investigation.
