DOE adds $500M to battery supply buildout (metaltechnews.com) — A battery-tech company will build new manufacturing capacity in San Leandro with a share of $500 million in federal energy funding, focused on advanced silicon-anode lithium-ion cells using domestically sourced materials. 3. 4 arrested in the East Bay after attempted robbery in San Mateo County (nbcbayarea.com) — A suspect vehicle tied to an attempted robbery in San Mateo County was tracked into San Leandro, where plate readers and an Alameda County Sheriff's airplane located it near Washington Avenue and Spring Lake Drive. Deputies then followed the suspects into Oakland, where they switched cars, and ultimately stopped a second vehicle on I-80 in Emeryville, arresting four people now under investigation.
