Sonoma police and Sonoma County Sheriff's detectives say several people may have seen what happened Sunday night near First Street East but left before help arrived. Authorities report no ongoing safety threat but are withholding the man's identity pending family notification.

Sonoma Barracks to host 115th anniversary celebration of California women winning the vote (sonomanews.com) — Sonoma residents are invited to a free Oct. 10 celebration at Sonoma Barracks marking 115 years since California women won the right to vote, with talks, a film and local history groups. Local institutions like Sonoma State University Library, Sonoma County Library and Sonoma Valley Historical Society will share resources, making it a rich chance to explore women's history close to home.
   

3. Sonoma County delays opening of El Verano behavioral health facility for second time this year (pressdemocrat.com) — Plans to open a new behavioral health and homelessness services hub for Sonoma Valley residents in El Verano have been delayed again, with the Lomita Avenue office now expected in November due to soaring build‑out costs.
