Teen Arrested In Deadly Spirit Store Mass Shooting In Norcal

Fairfield police arrested a teenager accused of shooting seven people inside a Spirit Halloween store.

NORTHERN CALIFORNIA — Police arrested a 17-year-old in the Oct. 30 shooting that killed a pregnant woman and wounded six other people inside a Spirit Halloween store in Fairfield.

Detectives found the teenager at a home in Suisun City. He faces murder and attempted murder charges, police said. The department has not released his name because he is a juvenile.

Police said the suspect entered the Solano Town Center store around 8:30 p.m. and spotted a customer investigators believe he intended to target.

Fairfield Police Chief Dan Marshall said the teen did not know the woman.

The teen fled within minutes as police and paramedics arrived at the scene of the shooting.

Six surviving victims were treated at local hospitals. Authorities initially reported that at least three were in critical condition, Patch reported.

A Fairfield police school resource officer identified the suspect within hours of the 911 call, according to Fairfield police.

The officer reviewed store surveillance footage, recognized the teenager as a former student, and notified Fairfield Police Department detectives.

The Fairfield shooting was followed by another, separate, incident over the Halloween weekend. Multiple people were killed in a shooting just after midnight Monday in Moss Landing.

Police are still investigating both shootings.

Fairfield police said authorities previously arrested the teenager in connection with a separate shooting in a local high school parking lot after school hours in 2025.

He was in custody for three months, police said.
